

Of Coal and Jade“Don’t go in their streets at night.” The familiar warning played in her head as she walked the length of 6th street at midnight. The soft hum of streetlights and the rustle of papers fluttering in the warm breeze were the only noises on the small road. Heels clicking on the pavement, she walked purposefully down the center of the deserted street, daring the night to engulf her small frame. Her almost black hair blew across her face, dancing with the shadows cast by overgrown trees.
